Sam Webb is a contestant from Australian Survivor (2016) and Australian Survivor: Heroes v Villains.

Sam came into 2016 wanting to play with loyalty and friendship. This mindset carried him deep into the merge before he attempted to blindside his closest friend Lee Carseldine in favor of a new all-Saanapu alliance. His downfall began when Lee won immunity and Sam's alliance's next target, El Rowland, survived the vote. Sam was then targeted and subsequently voted out at the next Tribal Council.

For his professed values of mateship and loyalty, Sam returned as a Hero in Heroes v Villains. As a member of the so-called "Meat Tray" alliance, Sam's physical strength allowed him to integrate into the Heroes' majority. Despite being left to dry as a secondary split vote target during the tribe switch, Sam chose to reunite with the Heroes during the merge, which backfired when the Villains took control. Though his minority alliance came into possession of two Hidden Immunity Idols, Sam's fate was sealed when his allies Nina Twine and Shaun Hampson misread the vote and chose to play their idols for themselves, leaving him to become the second member of the jury.

Sam is the CEO of the mental health and suicide prevention organisation LIVIN, which he cofounded in 2013 after one of his close friends took his own life.

It has become the basis of the way Sam lives his life, being grateful for everything. "It changed my entire life purpose and mission. I now use tragedy to inspire people in a positive way. Overall, my decisions in life are influenced by 'does it make me happier?', so everything I do is for the better. I don't waste time doing things that don't move me. I'm all in."

Previously, Sam worked in sales and as a private client advisor assistant. He says Australian Survivor is the ultimate self-challenge.

"Stepping out of my comfort zone motivates me. I love anything where I could be vulnerable. This will grow me as a person and help others find hope. Although this is so far out of my comfort zone, that I have been second thinking it! I can't wait."

Coming up against Survivor super fans is something Sam is not quite ready for as he has not watched an entire episode, but is hoping his lack of knowledge of the game will be an advantage for him.

Following Australian Survivor, Sam plans to go on a 500 kilometre bike ride through the Italian Alps.[2]

The original Hero, it’s been six years since Sam played in the very first series of Australian Survivor on the shores of Samoa.

After lasting 49 days without a single vote against his name until he was sent home, Sam played a game of mateship and loyalty. And while his morals haven’t changed, he knows the game has evolved and so will his gameplay. He says, "Coming into this game as a returnee, I see the game completely different. I'm coming in here with a pretty similar strategy, but I feel like the energy in Survivor is a lot more cutthroat and I may be wrong but I’m looking forward to it, I’m looking forward to the challenge.”

Sam continues to run and work his mental health charity, LIVIN, and hopes the good guys win in Australian Survivor: Heroes V Villains. Praising his mother as his Hero, even Sam admits that sometimes Heroes can have their villainous moments. He says, "My mum is a Hero. She's probably the biggest Hero but I've seen her turn and if that gives me permission to turn, you better believe I will. I'm not out here for a holiday.

"I think you could win this game playing a moral game, but you may have to bend a few of those rules within that moral. Let's find out. People thrive off an underdog, the battler, that's the Australian way and I'm a battler man, let's go. I've lived my life with my back up against the wall, nothing fights harder than when a mongrel dogs back is against a wall, nothing."[3]

^1 In "Episode 5", Vavau and Saanapu were subjected to a joint and mock Tribal Council where the players they voted out were switched to the other tribe. The person voted off Saanapu, Conner, was given the privilege to take an original tribemate with him. He chose Sam to join him on Vavau.
^2 In "Episode 16", Nick used a Hidden Immunity Idol, negating Sam's vote against him.
^3 In "Episode 23", Lee used a Vote Stopper advantage on Sam, preventing him from voting. Also, the vote ended with a 2-2 tie between Sam and Matt, forcing a revote. El and Kristie changed their votes to Sam on the revote, eliminating him from the game.
